Audrey Kauders received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Drama from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. Her career has included roles at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, the Montgomery School of Fine Arts Dance Faculty School and the Montgomery Performing Arts Company.
In 1979, Kauders moved to Omaha and became the assistant to the director at Joslyn Art Museum.
While in Omaha, she earned her Executive MBA from UNO. Today, she is deputy director of the museum, where she is in charge of a $6.1 million operating budget and assets of more than $82 million.
Kauders has a strong interest in dance and ballet, and has choreographed many productions, with several of her ballets earning acclaim in Dance magazine. She has also served as a reviewer for the Institute of Museum Services, Washington, D.C.
She is currently on the board of directors, Downtown YMCA, and a member of the Association of Art Museum Administrators, the American Association of Museums and the Nebraska Museums Association. She has also been an Arts and Humanities honoree by the YWCA Tribute to Women.
