The CADRE Project is a nationally-recognized accelerated master's program designed to assist newly certified teachers with the unique challenges of entry into the profession of education.
Master's Degree Options
CADRE Teachers have the option of earning one of the following degrees offered through UNO's College of Education:
- Master of Science in Elementary Education
- Master of Science in Secondary Education
- Master of Science in Special Education
- Master of Science in Literacy
Program Overview
The CADRE Project consists of a 36-hour graduate program. This 14-month induction program runs from June - July and begins with a program Orientation the May prior to starting. Although there are individual differences, a typical CADRE Teacher completes his/her program in four consecutive semesters:

Areas of Concentration Options
All CADRE Teachers working towards an M.S. in Elementary Education or Secondary Education are required to select an area of concentration. Please note, that areas of concentration are NOT considered endorsements for certification purposes.
The following endorsements can be added to concentrations for state certification purposes:
- ESL/English Learners/Multilingual Learners
- Early Childhood
- Literacy
- Instructional Technology Leadership
- School Library
- Behavior Intervention Specialist (special education only)
Please note additional endorsements (getting your master's degree in addition to an endorsement), may require additional coursework.
