The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) at UNO is pleased to announce the new Fast Track Program. This program advances motivated students’ academic careers by allowing them to take up to nine credit hours of graduate-level courses while completing their undergraduate degree. Any eligible graduate courses completed through the Fast Track Program will count towards a bachelor’s degree and a M.A. or M.S. degree within the School — allowing students to complete their degrees in an accelerated time frame.
Students who enroll in the program will have a wide array of graduate courses to select from in the SCCJ curriculum to align with their interests. Students will interact with faculty and graduate students in engaging classes that tackle current criminological and victimological issues. Qualified students may also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research projects with SCCJ labs, including the Nebraska Collaborative for Violence Intervention and Prevention; the Victimology and Victim Studies Research Lab; Violence Intervention and Policing Research; and the Crime and Justice Public Opinion Lab.
Eligible students must have completed 75 credit hours as a criminal justice major and be in good academic standing (3.5 GPA or higher) to apply for the Fast Track Program. Students interested in enrolling in the Fast Track Program should reach out to Teresa Kulig, Ph.D., for more information. View details of the SCCJ Fast Track Program.
“The Fast Track Program is the best way to experience what the graduate program is like without having to fully commit just yet. It allows you to finish with your graduate degree sooner while still completing your undergraduate requirements at the same time as well as provides an opportunity for connection and networking with others in the program. The Fast Track Program allowed me to work firsthand with not just graduate students and doctoral students, but also the amazing academic researchers and professors that this university has to offer. I got to meet people I would later work with or have classes with before I was ever officially a part of the graduate program. I would recommend the Fast Track Program for anyone who is wishing to make connections and thrive academically. For those that love to get ahead and work hard, the Fast Track Program is for you." - Emily W., Previous Fast Track Program participant
