An area of concentration in English gives you a diverse background in literature, writing, culture, and communication.
You will read, discuss, and write about the literature and culture of English-speaking people, while also learning about the history, structure, and use of the English language. English is a versatile concentration and will develop skills and understanding useful anywhere.

A minimum of 120 hours are required for the Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies degree.
Up to 9 hours in related coursework outside of the English Department may count towards degree requirements with approval.
Strongly recommended coursework includes:
- ENGL 2410 Critical Approaches to Literature or ENGL 2420 Critical Approaches to Language Studies as Writing in the Discipline
- ENGL 3050 Writing for the Workplace
- ENGL 3980 Technical Writing Across the Disciplines or ENGL 4830 Technical Communication
