An area of concentration in Sociology involves the scientific study of patterns of human behavior and society.
Sociologists explore how people structure social life and the consequences of those structures for human behavior.
You can explore areas such as families, experiences of racial and ethnic groups, media, organizations, social inequality, women and feminism, sexuality, corporate culture, human emotions, welfare or education reform, human rights, and issues regarding peace and war.

* Must include at least 12 hours of upper level credit completed at UNO
A minimum of 120 hours are required for the Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies degree.
Up to 9 hours in Anthropology (ANTH) or related coursework outside of the Sociology and Anthropology Department may count toward degree requirements with approval.
Additional Information:- No course from a two-year institution which is also offered as an upper level course at UNO can be used in this area of concentration.
- It is recommended that required core courses for the Sociology major in the College of Arts & Sciences be taken as part of the BMS undergraduate curriculum if a student is interested in graduate study. Students should also contact the graduate advisor in the Department for additional course recommendations.
