We Look Forward to Meeting You

Welcome to Emergency Management and Disaster Science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha — a nationally recognized leader in research and education.

Welcome to Emergency Management and Disaster Science!

We offer a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management and a graduate concentration in Emergency Management through the School of Public Administration. Additionally, our program provides a concentration, minor, and certificate in Tribal Management and Emergency Services as well as minors in Emergency Management and in Fire Service Management.

A unique one-of-a-kind curriculum, which to our knowledge is not offered elsewhere. You can also take our classes as a concentration available as part of the UNO Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies program administered by the Division of Continuing Studies.

Our talented faculty have extensive backgrounds in research and practice in the field of emergency management and are engaged in several community service activities in the state of Nebraska, the city of Omaha, and nationwide. Public service and outreach are critical to our mission. Therefore, our faculty and staff often provide services to various organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

We welcome you to search through our website and learn more about our public service, course offerings, and our significant research projects. If you are in the area, we encourage you to visit our offices, attend our events, and collaborate with us.

Dr. Yu-Che Chen, Interim EMDS Director; ychen@unomaha.edu
