Omaha – This year marks the first-ever formal creation of an annual report in the School of Public Administration (SPA). The report which tells the story of our 2015-2016 academic year.
One of the highlights from this year are our new and improved rankings from U.S. News and World Report. Our overall ranking scored us a spot in the top 25 programs in the nation, along with concentration-specific rankings in the top 20. These rankings—and many other successes throughout the year—would not be possible without the exceptional work of our talented faculty, staff, and students.
In addition to the excitement of the program rankings, the contents of this inaugural annual report covers information regarding numbers specific to SPA trends, a historical briefing of our programs, and our public service mission which highlights how we pave the way for our students, faculty, and staff to become leaders in both the classroom and the community. From there, the issue focuses on the great work of our faculty shown through their prestigious honors and awards, along with current and up-and-coming contracts, grants, and research findings.
The findings do not stop there. Select publications including book chapters revolving around the parallel of food and public health, research evaluating the Omaha Gives! campaign, published articles highlighting a model of information technology, and forthcoming works which reveal the connection between media and emergency communications are also presented. To wrap up the report, faculty presentations at national conferences and on campus are also summarized.
