What is dual enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is an opportunity for high school students to earn college credit while attending their local high school. Courses are taught at high schools by high school faculty who have advanced academic credentials and have been approved to teach these advanced courses by UNO academic departments.
Dual enrollment courses are college courses that also fulfill various high school requirements. For example, a dual-enrolled UNO biology course may also fulfill high school requirements to count for Advanced Placement® (AP) or honors credit.
Do dual enrollment courses count for college?
Yes. Dual enrollment coursework will appear in the same manner as other collegiate coursework and the student grade will be recorded on a UNO transcript. The grade received for dual enrollment will factor into the student's cumulative GPA at University of Nebraska System.
When can I sign up for dual enrollment?
It depends. Students sign up for some courses in the fall and others in the spring. Specific details can be found on your school's dual enrollment page.
How long are dual enrollment courses?
It depends. In some cases, a dual enrolled course may only be one semester, while in other cases the course may last the full academic year. More details can be found on your high school's dual enrollment page.
Do any dual-enrolled courses need to be taken sequentially?
In most cases, courses do not need to be taken sequentially. The one exception is for Biology 1450 and Biology 1750. Students must dual enroll in biology 1450 if they also want to dual enroll in Biology 1750.
Does every high school offer the same courses?
No, dual enrollment courses vary by high school.

What is the 1098-T form and how do I receive mine?
Form 1098-T is generated by the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) to report to the IRS tuition and fee amounts as well as any scholarship-type funding received. This form is required by the IRS each year that a student is enrolled in an eligible higher education institution.
Your enrollment in the Dual Enrollment program at UNO qualifies you to receive form 1098-T. It is possible this form could be used by your parents to support a tax credit on an individual tax return. It may also be used to calculate taxable scholarship benefits received. The form can be accessed via MavLINK under Student Accounts.
Where can I find information about my student account?
After your application has been processed, you will receive two emails from TrueYou. The first email will contain your NUID (Nebraska Unique Identifier) and the second email will contain your temporary password.
Please follow the links in the emails to set up your password so that you can access MavLINK, UNO's student portal. Enter your NUID and newly created password in MavLINK to see your student schedule, make a payment, request a transcript, etc.
Can I still enroll in Dual Enrollment after I have completed the course?
University policy does not allow for students to register and receive post-secondary credit for dual enrollment courses after the completion of the relevant term. This ensures the integrity of official academic records, as well as those that are transmitted to other institutions by the university. How do I know which UNO course(s) align with my high school course(s)?
This information is included with the list of dual enrolled courses on your school's landing page. In some rare cases, multiple dual enrolled courses are aligned with a single high school requirement(i.e. UNO biology I and II are aligned with AP biology).
