The National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE) has expanded into offices and event space in Maverick Landing.
The expansion pertains to the glass-enclosed offices, conference room, and technology demonstration space on the first floor of the building. Students will continue to have access to the common areas and dining space around The Campus Grind café. NCITE will eventually move into the carpeted common area north of The Campus Grind, but that area remains open for now.
NCITE will keep its current offices in Suite 270 of the Rod Rhoden Business Center inside Mammel Hall. The Maverick Landing expansion will give NCITE a public-facing space for demonstrations and events. Research and administration will continue in Mammel Hall.
Based at UNO, NCITE aims to be the nation’s premier provider of counterterrorism research, technology, and workforce development. As one of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Centers of Excellence, its interdisciplinary consortium of experts, located at more than 50 universities around the world, including UNO, are engaged in innovative and timely work that provides novel solutions to complex national security issues.
