On April 11, NCITE brought together experts on the Islamic State to discuss the group's activities in Afghanistan and Pakistan and what it means for national security.
The event, co-hosted with UNO's Center for Afghanistan Studies, featured panelists Amira Jadoon and Andrew Mines, co-authors of the new book The Islamic State in Afghanistan and Pakistan: Strategic Alliances and Rivalries. The book discusses the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISK), exploring how the ISIS affiliate became a force in the region.
NCITE's Austin Doctor, director of counterterrorism research inititatives, also served as a panelist. Sher Jan Ahmadzai, director of the Center for Afghanistan Studies, moderated.
