OMAHA – The North American Case Research Association (NACRA) has named University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) professor Rebecca Morris a NACRA Fellow. The award is presented to individuals with a record of long-term exemplary service to NACRA and to case research, writing and teaching.
Morris, a professor of management in the UNO College of Business Administration, received the recognition at the NACRA 2014 annual meeting in late October. The designation is not presented every year but is reserved for special recognitions.
“I felt honored to become a NACRA Fellow and to join a group of people that I greatly appreciate and respect,” Morris said. “Many of the current NACRA Fellows were instrumental in helping me develop as a case writer.
“I have tried to reciprocate by assisting others to develop their own case research, writing and teaching skills. It is great to be recognized for doing work that I enjoy.”
Morris has published cases in academic case journals such as the Case Research Journal and the Business Case Journal. Her cases have also been published in many textbooks in the areas of strategic management, business ethics and international management.
Morris has also mentored many UNO Master of Business Administration student case writers and was the faculty supervisor on two cases selected as the Outstanding Student-Authored Case at NACRA annual meetings in 2003 and 2009.
Morris served as President of NACRA in 2006 and currently serves on the NACRA Board of Directors as the Vice President of Case Marketing and is the on the Board of Directors and the Program Chair for The CASE Association. Morris also serves on journal editorial boards for the Case Research Journal and the CASE Journal.
Presenters of the Fellow award also recognized Dr. Morris for her promotion of case research and writing throughout the United States through seminars she presented at the Academy of Management, Eastern Academy of Management, Midwestern Academy of Management and NACRA meetings.
The Fellow designation honors members of NACRA “who have distinguished themselves through their life-long achievement in case research, writing, and teaching.” Past Presidents of NACRA review nominations for the award and decide upon the recipient.
