Want your news item or event promoted on campus? Here's what you need to know about submission guidelines for possible inclusion in the Bullseye (for students) and the Maverick Daily (for faculty/staff).
Submission Process
The submission process below is only applicable to the Bullseye and the Maverick Daily.
All approved items for these publications will automatically be considered for promotion across all of the university's official communication channels.
For all other MarComm needs, including graphic design, media promotion, or photography, please use the Start Your Project form.
Before submitting
If your submission is a news or event item, please give your college or area communicator a heads up. They may have additional ideas for promoting the item beyond the newsletters.

All submissions should:
-
Be submitted using this form — All items submitted for consideration should be sent at least three weeks in advance of an event date, a deadline, or an article's ideal promotion window. A month's notice about an event is ideal. We understand this is not always possible. Run dates will not be provided due to shifts in the content calendar. This lead time allows MarComm the time to thoroughly promote the submitted content after integrating it into an existing content calendar.
-
Be sponsored by a UNO office, department, program, or registered organization (community engagement partners in good standing may also create submissions, but the event must include a service learning component).
-
Include a paragraph about the event or announcement (250 words or less), not just a flier/document that contains information. Fliers will not be included in articles and events.
Items that will not be promoted:
-
Job candidate resumes (unless requested by the Chancellor's Office)
-
On or off-campus events not related to UNO
-
Personal social media accounts, personal blogs, personal websites, or related media
-
Political or controversial statements
-
Enrollment for individual classes or programs (certificates, degrees, majors, minors, etc.), this excludes professional development workshops and universitywide/systemwide initiatives
- Individual clubs or classes
-
Individual capstone or student projects
-
Surveys, this excludes surveys that are universitywide/systemwide initiatives
What happens after you submit a news item or event:
-
You will receive an automatic reply noting your submission was received.

All submissions will be edited for writing style, accuracy, clarity, and brevity.

A new photo (or photos) may be selected for inclusion in the article or event representing your submission.
-
All approved submissions will automatically be considered for promotion across all of the university's official communication channels.
