The mission of TRIO Project Achieve is to provide support services to qualifying first-generation students, students who meet established income guidelines, and students with disabilities in order to facilitate graduation within six years.
TRIO Project Achieve specifically fosters an institutional climate supportive of the success of students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education.
This includes:
- Individuals with disabilities
- Students with limited English proficiency
- Homeless students
- Foster care students
- Other disconnected students
Our Focus
In order to accomplish this mission, TRIO Project Achieve focuses on providing students with the following:
- Academic support through mentoring, tutoring, and study skills workshops;
- Caring counseling for personal issues, as well as academic and career goals;
- Financial advising regarding scholarships, grants, loans, or financial literacy;
- Engagement with fellow students, faculty, staff, the larger community, and the world; and
- A campus community of acceptance, engagement, and pro-activity.
With these services, TRIO Project Achieve hopes to provide students with the will, the ability, and the means to succeed, not only as graduates but as strong community members and leaders.
