In 2005, John Scott, chairman of the William and Ruth Scott Family Foundation befriended TRIO Project Achieve. This friendship resulted in a higher retention and graduation rate for over 150 first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities who faced family and financial hardships.Benson Plant Rescue
Benson Plant Rescue (BPR) has partnered with TRIO Project Achieve students for over four years on community service projects. BPR has also partnered with TRIO Project Achieve students to establish the Project Achieve Benson Plant Rescue Garden at the south entrance to Kayser Hall on the UNO campus. All plants in the garden have been rescued by BPR.Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity has supported TRIO Project Achieve students in their efforts to reestablish a student Habitat for Humanity organization on campus. TRIO Project Achieve students have led the organization since 2014, participating in at least four builds each year (one of which, last year, assisted a fellow TRIO Project Achieve student's family in building their Habitat home) and raises funds to assist Habitat for Humanity Omaha's efforts to ensure affordable housing is available to Omaha families.
