Law and the Black Community provides an in-depth examination of the racialized American legal process as it pertains to and affects African Americans in the U.S. From the formation of the U.S. Constitution to present day, this course analyzes intersections of race, law, politics and culture, and explores the administration of justice and Black experiences through a critical legal perspective. Public Speaking Fundamentals helps students become effective public speakers, as well as critical listeners and evaluators of public communication. Students will learn the principles of audience adaptation, topic selection, organization, development of ideas and presentation of speeches.
