Our field trips are an opportunity for students in various curriculums to study art, history, the Holocaust, and related human rights topics. Our staff works collaboratively with schools and educators to connect your visit to your specific course and align to your district curriculum and state standards. Our learning activities are interdisciplinary and engage the arts as a platform for critical thinking and inquiry.
Field trips include:
- A whole group introduction to the Museum and the work of Samuel Bak
- A guided tour utilizing structured interdisciplinary learning stations throughout the Museum
- Engagement with Slow Looking, to build student observation and visual literacy skills
- Educators then select additional activities structured around their classroom learning objectives in collaboration with our Director of Education.
Field trips generally last 90 minutes, not including travel time to and from the Museum, and can accommodate up to 70 students. We have a variety of strategies to work with larger groups! If your school or district is interested in bringing an entire grade level or all students in a specific course, please reach out. Funding is also available as reimbursement for busing/transportation and substitute costs.
Additionally, add-on opportunities for all day experiences on the University of Omaha campus are available.
