As all UNO classes migrate into online learning mode, we know this will affect what students are expected to do in their service learning classes this year. In some cases, your projects were complete and you are ready to present to your class about your experiences and learning in final presentations in the coming weeks. Others are in the middle of their service learning projects, many of which involved face-to-face engagement with community members. Given our new social distancing requirements, these projects are changing. Please know your faculty member is working diligently with the community partner and Service Learning Academy team to identify online and technological solutions to these issues. They will share these solutions with you when classes return.
Please know the Service Learning Academy has reached out to community partners about these changes. Community partner organizations are also experiencing changes to how they provide services, and in many cases, to our most vulnerable populations. We will keep you updated about opportunities to support these partners as we hear from them what is supportive.
If you are interested in service outside of class, please be sure to contact the Office of Civic and Social Responsibility.
