Claim Your NetID and Password
Your NetID was assigned to you when you were admitted. It’s a username and password specific to UNO and is used to sign in to UNO online services.
- You'll receive an email with the subject “Being online at UNO” that has your NetID & UNO email information.
- To claim NetID and Password for the first time, you will need:
- NUID number & email or SSN used to apply for admission to UNO
- Claim your ID on TrueYou Nebraska

Set Up Your MavLINK Account
MavLINK is UNO’s student information system and it’s where you’ll find important tasks for enrollment. To access your MavLINK account, you’ll need:
- NUID Number: can be found on you admissions letter
- Your ID: you will claim your ID on trueyou.nebraska.edu and create a password
Go to MavLINK
Submit Official ACT/SAT Scores
Submit your test scores to be considered for merit scholarships and for placement exams.
- Official ACT scores can be ordered through ACT.org (school code: 2464)
- Official SAT scores can be ordered through SAT.org (school code: 6420)

Apply for Scholarships
Hundreds of merit/financial need-based scholarships are available! To apply, complete the UNO General Scholarship Application on the Financial Aid tab in MavLINK.
- Graduating high school seniors will automatically be considered for some of our first-year student scholarships by applying to UNO by February 1 of their senior year. This does not apply to transfer students.
- UNO department and college scholarships have special eligibility criteria and varying application dates are available.
- Need-based scholarships require completion of the FAFSA.

Housing applications open November 1 and fill up fast. If you’d like to live on-campus we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Submit Your FAFSA
FAFSA will open online by January 1. The first step in applying for financial aid is to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Apply as early as possible to maximize the amount of aid you can receive. UNO’s school code is 002554.

UNO 101 is a virtual workshop series designed to help you in your transition to college and includes topics like financial aid, making connections on campus, and navigating the accommodations process.

Sign Up For Orientation
All incoming students must fulfill an orientation requirement to enroll in classes. Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis so you are encouraged to complete orientation as early as possible.

Pay Your Enrollment Deposit
Using your NUID and password, pay your $100 enrollment deposit to secure your place at UNO.

Send Final Transcripts
If you’re currently enrolled in high school or college or have just graduated from high school, you are required to have your official transcripts sent to the UNO Admissions Office (by mail or an electronic transcript service) after you have finished your final courses.
