The AI Advantage: Transforming Teaching and Preparing Students to Thrive
This six-week professional development course is designed for all levels of AI users and for both faculty and staff. Walk through the process of exploring AI tools and incorporating it into your work. You’ll leave this course with a plan to implement AI into your course, everyday work, and department.

AI Jumpstart: Learning & Exploring with Generative AI
This course is a micro course (3 to 5 hours), designed to help you learn about generative AI. In this micro course, you'll learn a bit about what generative AI is, how it differs from other types of AI, and tips on how to become a good prompt engineer. You'll end the course exploring how you can use different types of generative AI (music, text, image, etc.) and sharing about your experience!

AI-Powered Teaching: A Workshop Series on Enhancing Learning with AI
Join for a workshop series, where educators will discover how to harness the power of artificial intelligence in their teaching. Through interactive sessions, participants will learn how to leverage AI-powered tools for paper assignments, creating images and real-world applications of AI.
By the end of each session, educators will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to integrate AI into their classes and create a more effective and engaging learning environment.

AI-Powered Teaching Grants
ILCI is now offering our first round of AI-Powered Teaching grants to help you integrate Generative AI into your course(s). Collaborate with an Instructional Designer to effectively and meaningfully implement AI into your teaching in three different ways.
The AI Learning Lab is offering a three-tiered system of AI course support:
Tier 1: Assignment AI Implementation - $250 |
Looking for ways to incorporate AI into an assignment, apply for the tier 1 AI-Powered Teaching Grant. Work closely with an Instructional Designer for 3 to 4 hours to incorporate AI in a way that works for you. |
Tier 2: Module AI Implementation - $1,000 |
Looking to help guide students on how they can use AI in a future career, or looking for a middle ground of AI implementation in your course? Apply for a tier 2 AI-Powered Teaching Grant. Work closely with an Instructional Designer for a 1 to 2 month grant to incorporate AI. |
Tier 3: Capstone Course/Full Implementation - $2,000 |
Looking to fully implement multiple AI strategies and learning opportunities for students across your entire course? Apply for a Tier 3 AI Powered Teaching Grant! Work closely with an Instructional Designer through our 3-4 month course re-development process. |
Note For Tier 2 and 3 Course Grants
If current courses do not meet or exceed our course design review standards, an additional $1,000 stipend may be available to improve course structure and accessibility.
Who is Eligible?
All full and part-time faculty are eligible to apply for AI-Powered Teaching Grants, but the ILCI is especially interested in funding grants for courses in major or capstone classes where faculty choose to implement a module or multiple learning opportunities into their course that demonstrates AI in the respective field and help to prepare students for using AI appropriately in their respective workforce.
AI-Teaching Grant Applications will be reviewed September 17-27. Grant Recipients will be contacted the week of September 30.
NOTE: Grants are awarded based on available funds. More grant opportunities will be available at a later date.
