AI Specific Workshops
Each semester, the AI Learning Lab hosts a series of AI workshops focused on incorporating AI into the classroom or work. The goal of these workshops is to support faculty and staff. By the end of each session, educators will be equipped with new skills or knowledge to integrate AI and the different components of using AI in the work or learning experience.
Check out our AI Workshops and Presentations page to learn about and register for upcoming workshops, and view recordings and resources from past workshops.
AI-Powered Teaching Grants
The AI Learning Lab offers AI-Powered Teaching grants to help faculty integrate Generative AI into courses. Collaborate with an Instructional Designer to effectively and meaningfully implement AI into your teaching in three different ways.
The AI Learning Lab is offering a three-tiered system of AI course support:
Tier 1: Assignment AI Implementation - $250 |
If you’re wanting guidance on how to incorporate AI into an assignment, apply for the tier 1 AI-Powered Teaching Grant. Work closely with an Instructional Designer for 3 to 4 hours (approximately 1-2 meetings) to incorporate AI in a way that works for you. |
Tier 2: Module/Project AI Implementation - $1,000 |
If you’re wanting to incorporate AI into a scaffolded project throughout the semester, create a module on how they can use AI in future careers, or looking to incorporate AI in a couple different ways throughout the semester, apply for a tier 2 AI-Powered Teaching Grant. Work closely with an Instructional Designer for 1 to 2 months to incorporate AI strategically. |
Tier 3: Capstone Course/Full Implementation - $2,000 |
If you’re wanting to fully implement AI throughout your course in multiple ways, apply for a Tier 3 AI-Powered Teaching Grant! Work closely with an Instructional Designer through our 3 to 4 month course re-development process. |
Note For Tier 2 and 3 Course Grants
If current courses do not meet or exceed our course design review standards, an additional $1,000 stipend may be available to improve course structure and accessibility.
Who is Eligible?
All full and part-time faculty are eligible to apply for AI-Powered Teaching Grants, but the ILCI is especially interested in funding grants for courses in major or capstone classes where faculty choose to implement a module or multiple learning opportunities into their course that demonstrates AI in the respective field and help to prepare students for using AI appropriately in their respective workforce.
AI-Teaching Grant Applications will be a running start date and awarded based on available funds. If funds run out, more grant opportunities will be available at a later date.
