What is Degree Works?
Degree Works is an online degree audit that lists all of a student’s requirements in an easily readable format. The information in Degree Works can be viewed by your academic advisor as well as you.
It is a great tool for helping you stay on track for graduation and to prepare for advising appointments. You can explore with your advisor different possibilities if you are thinking about making a change to your academic program.
How do I read my audit results?
The audit is broken up into the different requirements needed to complete your program, such as General Education requirements, Major requirements, etc. Courses that apply will be displayed under each requirement and those still needed will also be listed there. See your advisor if you have any questions about your audit.
Is the Degree Works audit an "official" document?
For graduate students, the audit in Degree Works is the official plan of study.
For undergraduate students, the audit in Degree Works is a useful tool to gauge progress toward degree completion, but is not official.
Is the degree audit like a four-year plan?
No, the audit in Degree Works shows you what is required to complete a program of study, but does not display when you should take each course.
Will I need to apply for graduation?
Yes, you will still need to apply for graduation online. While the audit shows you how close you are to graduation, there is no automatic notification from Degree Works to the Office of the University Registrar when you are ready to graduate.
